Third-Party Validation

National Renewable Energy Laboratory - Testing of a LSS server system at NREL showed the system able to recover 95% of the heat from the servers at 120°F, high enough to be used by conventional building heating systems. Following this test, the LSS server system was operated for two years in NREL’s ESIF high performance computing center while delivering 120°F reuse energy to NREL’s building heating system.

Intel - Confirmed that the LSS dielectric fluid does not have a deleterious effect on Intel processors, and all processor cores and memory operated well within the normal operating range even at coolant temperatures of 122°F • As a result of this study and other investigations it undertook, Intel committed to extend normal warranty terms to processors immersed in the dielectric fluid LSS employs.

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory - assessed liquid submerged server technology system for the US Navy’s Transformative Reductions in Operational Energy Consumption (TROPEC) program for continuous operation of servers and communication/network equipment in tropical environments with no mechanical cooling. The Coefficient of Performance for the system was 49.9 at full load compared to 1.6 for current practice, 30 times better.

Competitive Advantage

Case Study: Government Agency Data Center Upgrade

Hybrid racks facilitate transition to immersion with existing racks easily modified. Servers added one at a time as Vertical solution facilitates efficient space utilization. Maintenance access similar to air-cooled servers. Chassis solutions use 1/3 the fluid of tanks, reducing weight & cost. Retrofit a 2,000 sq. ft. datacenter for a federal government agency by introducing LSS-cooled racks during the normal IT refresh cycle. Benefit included: Any Shape or Size, No Water in Datacenter, Scalability, Easy to Swap & Maintain Devices, Harsh Environment Deployments, Low Cost.

Case Study: Facebook Before LSS

The Problem:

  1. 1.4 million cubic feet of air per minute.
  2. Drink up to 75 gallons per minute of water.
  3. High humidity inside mechanical refrigeration required indoors.
  4. 3-story building.

The Solution:

LSS ELIMINATED ALL OF THAT!
